July 17, 2021 By HayaanIN Leave a Comment

Hayaan institute organize a three-day training for 30 representatives from civil society organizations (CSOs) on the forthcoming elections, both at the state and national levels.

The purpose of the training will be to orient civic leaders to understand Somalia’s electoral processes and prepare them for what to expect from each.

This will include ensuring they understand the newly developed electoral model, but also explanations of the fundamental rights afforded to citizens in the provisional constitution, the importance of citizen participation, and the roles CSOs can play in ensuring credible polls.

Hayaan will work with state-based networks to identify prospective participants for the training and to support civil society coordination of electoral activities.
