Jessica Aitken is a freelance academic proofreader, specialising in work related to development, conflict resolution and post-conflict issues. She is the founder of Inkwell Proofreading, an academic copy-editing and proofreading service that provides support and advice regarding written English for international authors, students and businesses for whom English is a second (or third) language.
Jessica is a graduate with a background in both science and social sciences: a B.Sc. (Hons) in Astronomy and Physics from University College London and an M.A. (Hons) in Women’s Studies from York University, in which she focused predominantly on global and development issues. She has also studied the conventions of academic English on Berkeley University’s course, Principles of Written English.
