The Hayaan Institute for Research and Policy Studies is a private, non-partisan, not-for-profit think tank dedicated to research and education on issues of economics, social welfare, and government. Our purpose is to serve the public and decision-makers through research and education on the central issues of the day. The institute’s main focus is primarily on eight research sectors: Economics, Social Policy, Education, Health, Energy, Environment, Governance, Public Opinion, and Society..
Since our emphasis is on social and economic challenges in Somalia, our work is multidisciplinary and broad in scope. Our research is rigorous and objective; regardless of the research sponsor, we are very concerned to ensure that our work is free from ideological bias. It is peer-reviewed by external and internal experts. This scrutiny is part of what makes us a trusted source of expertise and analysis.
We also ensure that our work is as transparent and accessible as possible. Our commitment to the public good means that we want our work to reach and be understood by as many people as possible, as well as other experts and academics.
Our vision and intentions are to use our research and fresh thinking to support Somalia’s transition from its difficult socio-economic situation to a prosperous and just society.
Our mission is to use high quality, independent, groundbreaking research to analyse the present socio-economic conditions and identify how best to improve them.
